A Divine Event is a Catering and Special Events company producing private events throughout Atlanta and Athens. We are currently hiring Event Staff for our busy spring and fall seasons. This is part-time, flexible scheduling on a pickup basis. Event Staff are responsible for the set-up, service and break down of our special events. Event Staff lift and carry equipment, set tables with linens and flatware, build buffets and food stations. Event Staff re-load food stations; offer appetizers, champagne, and cake from tray service; bus and maintain the facility during the event. We promote a fun positive work environment, centered on team work.

What Part will you play?

The Chef de Partie is responsible for knowing all cooking areas of the kitchen, leading kitchen production, setting a cooking standard in the kitchen, and supporting the sous chef or prep supervisor in maintaining an organized, and efficient kitchen. They ensure and maintain safety and quality standards at A Divine Event (ADE)’s commissaries and events, train event chefs, perform light management duties, assist in inventory control, and maintain equipment by overseeing proper cleaning is done on a weekly basis. What will you be doing?
  • Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, serving guests and producing all levels of events from meetings for national corporations to local social gatherings.
  • Lead a team of chefs to execute small and large events during the week and weekend, at locations throughout the Atlanta and Athens area, and train Event Chefs.
  • Assist in food preparation at our commissaries in Norcross and Lawrenceville. Help to uphold quality and consistency by following recipes, and maintain food safety by ensuring culinary staff is following sanitation procedures.
  • Participate in receiving and ensuring quality of products, assist in overseeing that events are packed properly, checked out, and leave on time.
  • Light Administrative duties such a basic catering software operation, assisting in communicating event changes and details, and documenting any disciplinary issues with culinary staff members.
  • Salary pay is based on experience and responsibilities. An open schedule is required, with hours generally set Wednesday through Sunday.
What do we require from you?
  • Passion for creating excellent food and executing “Divine” events
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety, minimum 2 years experience working in a from-scratch kitchen environment
  • Energetic self-starter with attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Creative insight and the ability to exercise autonomy to fulfill complicated tasks
  • Team-player with a positive attitude towards change
  • Effective and professional communication in English required, Spanish language skills a plus Ability to lift and move an average of 50 pounds
  • Reliable Transportation to and from Events, and a Valid Driver's License with a Clean Driving Record ServSafe Certification a plus

A Divine Event is hiring part-time Event Staff to enter our Event Manager Training Program. This position is part-time, hourly, flexible scheduling based on event bookings.

Event Staff are responsible for the set-up, service and breakdown of our special events. Event Staff lift and carry equipment, set tables with linens and flatware, build buffets and food stations. Event Staff re-load food stations; offer appetizers, champagne and cake from tray service; bus and maintain the facility during the event. We promote a fun positive work environment, centered on team work.

Candidates who are deemed eligible for the Event Manager Training Program will receive on-the-job training by experienced Event Managers as well as individual management leadership training. The Event Manager is the person in charge of overseeing all other departments and personnel during the event. They play a vital role in the success of an event from beginning to end. They are responsible for the execution of all products and services ordered and planned; solving any problems that arise during the event and supervising all aspects of the event to ensure success. They must communicate and work with other venue and vendor partners and contacts making sure our mutual client is happy. The Event Manager delegates to and monitors the Event Staff progress and assists in any areas where additional help is needed. The Event Manager works to further the success of future events with ongoing feedback, proper correction or disciplinary action of the Event Staff and Operations Staff.

Before a candidate may enter the ADE EM Training Program, they must successfully master the Off Premise Event Staff and Bartender positions, showing reliability, punctuality, motivation, good team interaction and support of management and procedures. They must have safety training and understand the Operations Equipment Coordinator job duties. Applicants must be able to commit to work at least twice per week based on event bookings.
