Check out this inspiring feature on a couple who chose Cloverleaf Farm as their venue, our thoughtfully restored antebellum farmhouse just outside Athens, Georgia. “Cloverleaf was the perfect blend of new and old, an ideal setting to host both our ceremony and reception. During the planning process, we worked closely with the Design Studio at A Divine Event – they were instrumental in bringing our vision to life. It was fun collaborating with their designers, watching the transformation from the idea stage to execution.”

When Southern Bride magazine approached our Design Studio for ideas on an inspiration shoot, we brainstormed to come up with unique ideas to reflect a vintage football theme using UGA as our inspiration playing off school traditions, colors and football memorabilia.

We’re honored to have been included in Special Event Magazine’s list of Top 25 Great, Big Caterers. When asked about trends we’re seeing with our clients: “Chefs interacting with the guests continues to be big,” management says. “From single-serving chef performance stations to performing a plate up for a seated dinner in front of guests, the more we are able to showcase the chefs’ activities, the more the guests ‘eat it up!’”

We are so honored to have four of our venues take home this exciting award! Huge thanks to all our brides who gave us tons of props online! Check out our favorite review: "We had our wedding at Flint Hill this summer and the one thing I can think of to sum it up was that they undersell and over deliver. My expectations walking down the aisle were exceeded ten fold. My flowers were impeccable, the venue stunning, the staff exceptional and the food out of this world amazing. Absolutely 5 Star Restaurant quality food. Guests are still raving about it.”

A Divine Event recently purchased a 28-acre farm in Athens in order to work with Georgia Organics and the University of Georgia to develop the land for organic products. Playing up its farm-to-fork Southern culinary philosophy, the kitchen cans all the jams and jellies served at the company’s decidedly Southern Biscuit Bar and even gives away 4 oz. jelly jars filled with the jams to clients as gifts. Flavors include carrot pineapple marmalade, bourbon peach pecan, mixed berry, plum brandy and more.

Sweet, southern, sentimental touches was the theme du jour for Casey and Thomas’ nuptials. And though Thomas popped the question in snowy Colorado, there was no trace of winter at this garden party inspired wedding. The reception site, the charming Primrose Cottage in historic Roswell, was the perfect place for Casey and Thomas to put her design background -- and their shared love of gardening and florals-- to work. The end result? One fine day.

A Divine Event first tried its Graffiti station in May, and it’s been such a huge hit that the caterer is creating different versions for various settings. The chef-attended station features an array of sauces accompanied by paint brushes, squeeze bottles and atomizers, so customers can “paint” their plates with the flavors that they choose. “We had a big event coming up where we needed something new and a little different to make an impression,” explains Christy Campbell, executive chef, who came up with the concept. “Guests find it interesting to talk to the chef and learn something new, and to participate, so I thought it would be fun for them to actively participate with the plate.”

Bold colors have played a part in Lily Steenblik and Sung Hwang’s courtship from the beginning. “Look for the skinny Korean kid with pink hair,” were Hwang’s instructions to Steenblik before they met in person their freshman year. (Two weeks prior, the pair bonded over their love of music via instant messenger.) Their first meeting—and the night of dancing that ensued—only intensified her crush. Though Hwang left the next day for summer school in Virginia, they chatted daily, and by fall were an item. Ten years later, the duo celebrated their anniversary in Paris. On an evening walk across the Seine, Hwang presented Steenblik with a padlock, marked with their names and the date, and told her to attach it to the bridge, throw the key in the river, and make a wish—when Hwang dropped to one knee and proposed. A year later, the couple married in a double ceremony honoring their American and Korean heritages.

When an event planner gets married, the expectation is that the event will be flawless to the most minute detail. “It’s a lot harder being a bride than a planner,” maintains Shaundra Keith. For her wedding to businessman David Anderson—the two met when Keith applied for a small business loan to get her planning company off the ground—she wanted to incorporate elements of surprise and whimsy to kick off their marriage in a memorable way.

Last year A Divine Event produced a wedding in downtown Atlanta's historic Oakland Cemetery. I know what you're thinking.....a wedding?.....in a cemetery? It's true, and it was nothing like you may assume. From the “Vintage Savannah” décor to the Southern inspired menu, our team at A Divine Event was glowing like proud parents by the end of the event. It’s always a treat when we get the opportunity to create a themed celebration from the décor to the menu and customize the entire event experience for both bride and guests. And it's an even bigger treat when that wedding ends up in a beautiful magazine!
